Strategy Discussion

In relation to children:

A Strategy Discussion (sometimes referred to as a Strategy Meeting) is normally held following an Assessment which indicates that a child has suffered or is likely to suffer Significant Harm.

The purpose of a Strategy Meeting is to determine whether there are grounds for a Section 47 Enquiry.

In relation to adults:

A multi-agency discussion between relevant agencies involved with an Adult at Risk as part of the safeguarding process, to agree how to proceed with a safeguarding referral. It can be face-to-face, by telephone or by email. See also Strategy Meeting.
